Title | The Broomfield Wager |
The tune, collected by Cecil Sharp from Priscilla Cooper of Stafford Common, Devon is reminiscent of the brass band repertoire. It is great fun to sing, especially to a one-row box. The moral of the story is “Don’t wager with a witch! “ And certainly don’t go near her magical tree – it’s just asking for trouble.
