TitleTankard of Ale
A Tankard of Ale appears in the Joshua Jackson book as a 3/2 hornpipe which is how I'm playing it. Several others have recorded it in an irregular rhythm of alternating bars of 3/2 and 4/4 and there was some lively discussion about that on Melnet around this time last year.

I'm also playing it in Jackson's original key of A minor (Aeolian mode), allowing those final low notes at the end of each section to be played at their correct pitch, but it makes the whole thing very hard to do on a D/G melodeon.

There is also a recording of Mary and Anahata playing this as a duo arrangement: https://maryanahata.co.uk/music.php?action=details&id=7 .
