We learned these from Danny Gallagher, a melodeon player who was a mainstay of our Cambridgeshire Sunday evening music sessions. The Ball is from the William Mittell ms from New Romney in Kent; we can't trace The Nightingale.
Long after recording this, we learned a slightly different version of The Ball from Chris Partington, which is reflected in the ABC notation shown here.
